Hey, you lot!
This post is rather different to our usual posting (and it’s currently not our posting day either) however, we thought we’d get this up and passing the love around!
The Real Neat Blog Award is an award passed amongst other bloggers to engage, get to know one another and of course, bring forward our own loved blogger talents for you guys to read and explore!
Firstly, we’d love to thank Fairy Kissed Daisy for our nomination. Fairy Kissed Daisy has a beautiful blog brimming with self-exploration, and something that I massively admire about her blog is how refreshingly honest it is. In a world saturated with Insta-perfection, FKD’s page is a breath of fresh air.

And without further ado, let’s answer our nominated questions!
1. What is your favourite thing about blogging?
Our favourite thing has to be being able to be ourselves. We love writing, but we also love being able to write in a way that actually encompasses how we talk to one another daily. It’s natural and not forced, and we love having a giggle whilst doing it too. OOH! and of course, we love taking photos. Legit love it!
2. What would you say is your biggest achievement (outside of blogging)
Oh gosh, this one stumped me. I mean, I’ve been part of another blogging team who won 2x UK blog awards and ‘the next big thing’ we are thirty plus award. But I think for us on ‘ZaraLouU’ outside of blogging, our biggest achievements have to be juggling our families alongside doing what we love. As a team of four, we have 7 kids between us, so it’s no mean feat getting work done around them, especially them being all young too!
3. Where would you move to if money wasn’t an issue?
This one for me (Zara) is pretty easy. Anywhere in Scandinavia. It’s cooler, it looks pretty, and I somehow naturally vibe with the idea of being there despite having never travelled abroad before, because I simply can’t afford to! Failing that, Germany. I’ve always had a soft spot for Germany since languages in school, and I and the husband can have a very small brief conversation in German too.
4. What do you look for in other people’s blogs, what makes you click to follow?
Personally? I look for the blogger being present. I much prefer reading a post that owns oodles of personality rather than simply stating facts, fearing that Grammarly may bite their arse off. Being fun with your content keeps me engaged, more so if I can laugh. Be witty, use those puns accordingly, have the utmost fun churning your posts out! Seeing the real person behind the keys is massively important, and has been somewhat lost in recent years. I’m glad it’s making a comeback!
5. Favourite Disney Princess and why?
Ahh! Here’s my unpopular opinion time. If my sister is reading this, she needs to look away now, because she’s a huge Disney fan. I, however, am not a huge fan of Disney, as a young girl I obviously loved it, but the whole perfect princess must meet a man yadda yadda, never appealed to me. But imma take a turn and say this, she may not be a princess but she is, however, a Dutchess. Dutchess from the Aristocats is my favourite Disney character. She exudes the utmost sass and class in all she does and has a yearning to explore when thrown out into the world of her unknown with her babies. She’s also a kick-ass single mother to boot (let’s lowe Thomas O’Malley being around to save her yeah? Before this, she owned it)
6. What’s the most recent lesson you have learnt?
That I need to start doing things for myself and not for others. I’ve grown up consistently asking others what best to do, I’ve also carried a surmountable amount of things on my back that I never needed to. It has broken me down recently but allowed me to realise that things in life are actually good. I just needed to erase the clouds from my sky to see that. It’s something I’ll be looking into adding to this blog in near future, so keep an eye out for that.
7. Favourite candle scent?
Oh totally Cinnamon stick by Yankee Candle. I’m a sucker for cinnamon period because it just makes me think of Christmas. Oh and mulled wine! Totes lush!
And with that, we’re done! Thank you so much for those fun and massively tough questions Fairy Kissed Daisy, and if you’d like to check out her blog just click here for more!
